The TealHouse bespoke design service is dedicated to those who adore luxury, are obsessed about attention to detail, and want to play an active role in creating their perfect closet. Client's can expect a 6 month minimum turnaround time from start to finish, contingent on the complexity of their design.
Stage one DESIGN, SELECTIONS, SOURCING, AND COST ESTIMATES OF FINAL PRODUCT
Design is so much more than beautiful sketches, it’s a technical realization that incorporates the client’s aesthetic and functional needs while ensuring that their investments are made using the highest quality materials and ethical standards. Here the client will work with our team to discuss their vision and performance needs. Preliminary sketches will be produced and materials, trims and embellishments, and other finishes will be determined. From there our team create the technical drawings and source the materials before sending samples to the client for approval. Once all materials are selected, our team will assess an estimate cost of the final product to the client.
Stage two MEASURING AND EVALUATIONS
Measuring our client’s feet is a crucial first step before we are able to begin the pre-production process. This is followed by a discovery to assess the biomechanical needs that are unique to our client. Given the importance of these first evaluations, it is imperative to obtain an exact mold of the client’s feet for a proper shaping.
Stage three Last Creation
Once we obtain the desired measurements and design, our team will begin fashioning a model of our client’s feet called the “last”. This enables us to create a custom fit.
Stage four Pattern cutting
Pattern cutting requires a fine balance of creativity, attention to detail, vast technical understanding and an in- depth knowledge of the shoemaking process. Having been supplied with the client’s measurements and design requirements, a paper pattern for the shoe will be developed. These patterns will serve as a guide in the cutting process to make the upper of the shoe. During this process the cutter will balance the desires of the client along with their expertise to assess weight, materials, pliability, and quality in order to make the appropriate recommendations. It is crucial to ensure that all necessary adjustments to the pattern are made and the fit is correct before cutting the materials. With the final patterns created, a simple prototype sample is made and test fitted.
Once a final pattern has been determined, the selected materials will be cut to size then stitched together to form the upper. At this state, the linings will be fit and the various trimmings will be added. Once pieced together, the finished upper will be pulled over the last to ensure that it conforms to the required shape.
Stage five PROTOTYPING AND FINAL APPROVAL
At this stage, the prototypes will be fit to the foot model to ensure the fit is proper. If necessary, slight adjustments will be made. Once the upper is complete, toe and heel stiffeners will be added and the insoles will be shaped to the bottom of the last. The final shoe shape is then molded to the bottom of the last and fused to the upper. Here, the finishing touches are added before being sent to the client to ensure the fit is correct. Once to clients liking, the client will sign off, approving the design.
Stage six INVOICE AND DELIVERY
Following the client’s approval, an invoice with the final cost of the product will be set to the client. Once settled, the production for the final product will begin and delivered to the client in 8 to 12 weeks depending on the complexity of the design. The client may purchase the final product in different colors, without paying additional design fees, so long as the materials desired are the same.
Your investment Includes bespoke design services for single style shoe customized to you. Shoes are sold separately. An estimate price will be curated after the successful completion of the design phase. The final price will be determined after we receive the client's final approval during stage six, at which time an invoice will be sent.
Design and pre-production work is done in the United States. Materials are sourced locally and abroad. Final products are handcrafted in the United States with premium vegan materials and are finished with TealHouse's signature Teal Soles® and emblem.

Service sales are non-refundable Due to vast amounts of resources that are used in the design and development process, all service sales are final and are non-refundable.
